Betsy Fiedler is the Music Director for Holy Family of Nazareth Church in Leominster where she leads an adult choir in traditional and contemporary music, a youth band, and children’s choir (for Christmas and Easter). Betsy’s journey in liturgical music began when she was in seventh grade and was recruited as an assistant student organist for the daily school Liturgies. Through high school and college, she participated in and led folk groups and traditional choirs while earning a BS and MM in Music Education. Post-graduate studies have included coursework and certifications in vocal pedagogy.
In addition to her work at Holy Family, Betsy serves as a cantor in the North County for weddings, funerals, and other Liturgical celebrations; maintains a private music studio where she teaches voice and piano; and occasionally teaches Music Appreciation and Music Theory at Mount Wachusett Community College. She sings with the Greater Gardner Community Choir, and sometimes performs on the stage with Theatre at the Mount, and Greater Worcester Opera Company.
Betsy met her husband, Steve when she was leading the college Newman Center folk group, and he has been at her side since then as a partner in life and in music ministry. They have three sons, one daughter-in-law (who have all participated in music ministry at some point), and are proud new grandparents of baby Dominic.
